Why use Eyenetwork to arrange your Telepresence meeting?

You can either hire 2 or more Telepresence facilities from us, or if you have already invested in an all immersive Telepresence suite such as a Polycom RPX or a Cisco CTS1300 and you want to connect to someone outside your network, we can help you.

Working closing with Tata, BT and AT&T means that we are at the forefront of videoconference and telepresence interoperability.

Not only can we access 50 telepresence sites for public access, we can add your private site to that meeting and by the end of November 2011 we will also be able to bring a videoconference room system into the same meeting.

What is Telepresence?

Telepresence is, in essence, the latest generation of video conference technology. Originally it was the name of a Cisco product, but it is now becoming a general description for 'Very High Bandwidth' product. High bandwidth, running over a private network, is combined with 3 or more large HD screens to create an immersive experience. This can be reinforced by identical furniture and room set ups.

Major manufactures of telepresence equipment are; Cisco, Polycom, Tandberg, HP Halo and Lifesize.

Can I link my video conference system with a Telepresence system?

It depends on which telepresence system it is. HP Halo have a software which enables interoperability and can be bought as add on to existing equipment. The good news is that this software is now integrated into all new Halo equipment from mid 2009. Cisco equipment is currently not compatible with any other vendor or traditional video conference systems unless the connection is made via a gateway service. Polycom, Tandberg and Lifesize are all interoperable.

Does Eyenetwork offer Telepresence suites for hire?

Yes we do. Although the spread of such studios is nowhere near that of our video conference studios, the list of locations is growing weekly.

We have 2 separate networks offering fantastic telepresence facilities one is Polycom supplied and the other Cisco.  The Polycom equipment is on a closed network work, so at the moment you are only able link within that network and will need to hire 2 or more studios for your meeting.  The Cisco studios can be accessed from other networks via a gateway service.

Additionally we have a number of independent suppliers who you may be able to link with from your own telepresence equipment.  Please call us for advice and prices.
