CO2 footprints need to be cut by 90% by 2050

Research indicates that carbon emissions need to be reduced drastically in the next decades. The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change stresses the urgency of cutting our CO2 footprints for 90 % by the year 2050. To enable the realization of this goal, drastic cuts will have to be made in travelling, especially traveling by air. Vapours coming from the jets cause warming effects which greatly impact our environment! You can look up at the sky and see more than one vapour trail at any time as air travel has dramatically increased in the last decade.

Everyone will need to rethink their individual travel choices, but it is organizations that have the opportunity to make a truly great impact by implementing green travel plans (GTPs). By using GTP companies can keep track of their environmental performance and it should be a procedure that is part of every company’s business strategy. GTP has many positive effects such as minimizing pollution, reducing road traffic and improving employee productivity.

One of the ways to stay in communication and reduce CO2 emissions is video conferencing. It is time to move on from phones and e-mails and consider the solutions presented by the technological development of our time. Such solutions can give the employees the option to work from home, eliminate geographical distances and giving companies the option to hire the best talented for the job. Video conferencing can bring a competitive advantage, as small businesses are limited by the amount of money they can give to business travel. So this creative method of communication saves time and funds but still keeping businesses in contact with crucial people who are essential for success. And now there is also the option to record your meetings in case you need them for future reference.

A company that starts using video conferencing can enjoy many benefits and feel good for contributing their part to the growing issue of climate change.
